Downton Abbey inspiriertes Sommerkleid, MMMittwoch

Hello, dear sewists,

The Downton Abbey Series' costumes have inspired me for three garments.

Mich haben die Kostüme, die in der Downton Abbey Serie getragen werden, sehr inspiriert. Insgesamt habe ich danach drei Kleidungsstücke genäht.

Last summer, while the hot days, I felt the gap of an airy, light linnen dress like all the other women would wear suddenly.

Im letzten Sommer fehlte mir während der heißen Tage so ein luftiges, helles Leinkleid, wie es andere Frauen plötzlich alle anhatten.

The dresses of the Twenties taught me the possibility to wear a dress with a low waistline despite existent hips. Almost all dresses have got a side part with ruffles, pleats or godets giving place and  allowing to move.

Die 20er Jahre Kleider von Downton Abbey eröffneten mir die Möglichkeit, trotz vorhandener Hüften ein Kleid mit tieferer Taille zu nähen. Fast alle Kleider haben zumindest seitlich ein weiteres, angekraustes oder in Falten gelegtes Rockteil oder entsprechende Godets, dass man nicht eingezwängt aussieht und sich darin normal bewegen kann.

Rapidly, I found the right pattern: the Malvarosa Dress by Pauline Alice.

Den passenden Schnitt dafür hatte ich schnell gefunden: Malvarosa von Pauline Alice.

Pattern: Malvarosa Dress by Pauline Alice

Fabric: pale pink linnen, Garçonne, Freiburg.

Size: 38

Alterations: bodice in bias grain

                   Bodice shortened by 7cm, skirt longer by 7cm

                  Two vertical darts in the back.

Änderungen: Oberteil im schrägen Fadenlauf
                     Oberteil 7 cm gekürzt, Rockteil um 7cm verlängert
                     zwei senkrechte Abnäher im Rücken.

After attaching the skirt, it looked just hideous. One moment of regretting to sew; but after shortening the bodice, everything changed. The facings of neckline and armholes are flapping out while dressing. Maybe a next time I would  connect them.

Das Kleid sah nach dem Annähen des Rockteils einfach nur scheußlich und unvorteilhaft aus. Der Moment, in dem man alle Arbeit bedauert; das Kürzen des Oberteils änderte glücklicherweise wieder alles. Die Belege um Hals- und Ärmelausschnitt muss man nach dem Anziehen zurechtzupfen, dass sie nicht umklappen. Die werde ich bei einem nächsten Mal vielleicht verbinden.

I like this dress. The colour is perfect for a hot summerday, it is light and airy. What do you think? 

Mir gefällt das Kleid sehr gut. Die Farbe ist perfekt für einen heißen Sommertag, es hat kurze angeschnittene Ärmel und ist schön luftig. Was denkt Ihr?

Alder Dress at MeMadeMittwoch

Hello, dear sewing fellows,

A lot of German speaking sewists are meeting at MeMadeMittwoch (Wednesday),  showing their selfmade garments.

I am wearing my Cosmic Blue Alder Dress. It is a good choice for the lower temperatures in the morning and for the anounced hotter afternoon.

Pattern/Schnitt: Alder Dress and sleeves of the Archer Shirt by Grainline Studio, Size/Größe: 6B-8W-10H Fabric/Stoff: Cosmic Blue, Atelier Brunette Buttons/Knöpfe von Kurzwarenrausch, München.

Leinen-Macaron

Hello, sewing fellows,

there are a lot of different beautiful versions of Colette Patterns' Macaron to be admired in the internet.

Vom Macaron Dress von Colette Patterns gibt es unzählige gezeigte Versionen im Netz.

I had bought this elastic lace to make the blouse part and the italian bio linnen to make the bustier and skirt, because I loved the quality of the fabrics.  

Ich hatte mir diese italienische elastische Spitze für die Blusenteile und Bioleinen für das Bustier- und Rockteile in dieser Farbe gekauft, weil mir die Stoffqualität gefiel.

In accordance with my musselin out of an elastic knit, I sewed the lace part in size 0, the dress in 4-6-8. 

Das Blusenteil habe ich nach einem elastischen Probeteil in Größe 0 genäht, das Kleid dann in den Größen 4-6-8.

The neckline and sleeve edges I finished with an elastic similar to lingerie edges.

Die Ausschnittkante und Ärmelsäume habe ich wie beim Dessous-Nähen mit Gummi verstürzt.

I like this dress a lot even when dressing and undressing is a little bit difficult and the colour is not one of my favorites.

Dieses Kleid trage ich gerne! Auch wenn das Hinein- und Herauskommen etwas schwierig ist und die Farbe nicht zu meinen Lieblingsfarben zählt.

Pattern/Schnitt: Macaron, Colette Patterns
Size/Größe: "blouse" 0 (elastic!), bust 4- waist 6- hip 8.
Fabric/Stoff: italian bio linnen und elastic lace, Garçonne, Freiburg.
