Alder Dress, Grainline Studio, Me-Made-May'15 Day 3

Hello, me-makers,

today we have got another wet and grey day. I took my flannel Alder Dress, Grainline Studio, again out of its summer accommodation to keep me cosy today.

I loved the Alder Dress pattern the instant I saw it.

Nachdem ich die Archer Shirts von Grainline Studio so gerne genäht hatte, gefiel mir gleich bei Erscheinen des Alder Dress wieder die Version B besonders gut.

Mein Traum war ein bequemes, kariertes Flanellkleid.

I followed Jen's instructions using the Archer sleeve pattern.

Es gibt einen Sewalong, bei dem Jen viele Schritte genau erläutert. So habe ich den Archer-Ärmelschnitt genau nach ihrer Anleitung verändert und für das Kleid genommen.

This cotton flannel was fraying out very badly, so I finished the seams with flat felled seams. Therefore I was using a special foot of my Bernina which makes this very easy. 

Der Flanellstoff franst sehr leicht aus. An der Knopfleiste hatte ich die NZ zu knapp zurückgeschnitten. Plötzlich hatte ich einen Riss entlang der Knopfleiste. Ich habe sie noch einmal abgetrennt und einen halben Zentimeter des rechten Vorderteils für eine neue NZ geopfert.

Alle Nähte habe ich wegen der Franserei als falsche Kappnähte genäht. Mit dem entsprechenden Nähmaschinenfuß geht das ganz gut.

I am very pleased with the result. I do not press the flannel!

Mit dem Kleid bin ich sehr zufrieden. Ich habe sogar noch einen blauen Gürtel dafür gekauft. So kann ich, wenn ich will, die Taille mit dem Gürtel betonen. Zu Hause auf der Couch kann ich ihn dann ausziehen und habe es bequem, ohne dass eine hochrutschende und einengende Taillennaht stören würde.

Der Flanell ist schön kuschelig. Ich bügele ihn nicht! Der Rockteil hat eine interessante Saumlinie und schwingt schön.

Me-Made-May'15 1.May, Coppélia, Papercut Patterns

Welcome! Today is the first Me-Made-May'15! I am so excited seeing all of your memade garments and beeing member of this lovely group of interesting sewists!

Coppélia Cardi, Papercut Patterns

2013, urgently, I needed a cardigan for my new Elisalex dress. All my cardigans were too long and I looked like wearing potato sacks. So I made this cropped wrap cardi to warm me up when weather beeing cold like today.

I found this colourful thick cotton lace at my lovely local fabric shop Garçonne. I sewed the whole thing with my serger using the three threads option for the seams not beeing too thick, using matching yarn.

I found the wrap beeing quite difficult to just put and take off as a cardigan but it keeps me warm and I like to wear it.
